FIAC (or Foire International d’Art Contemporain) is the motherlode of contemporary art fairs in Paris — it’s the French cousin of London’s Frieze and New York’s Armory Show. From the art invasion in the Grand Palais to the outdoor projects in the Tuileries gardens, it will be a heavy concentration of art with the most international representation amongst the three fairs.

Serving as the outlet for the emerging art scene, SLICK openly welcomes the nouvelle garde of artists and galleries with the most gusto . For it’s fourth edition, it is widening it’s scope to include not just video and photography but hosting conferences about gastronomy in art, and, interestingly, using recycled materials in the creation of art. Keep an eye on Le 104 and Point Ephémère as main points of reference.

Until 3 October the windows of Galeries Lafayette are designed by David Lynch and they are a real succes. The general thema ” Machines, Abstraction and Woman” attractsand intrigues almost every passerby.
Lynch thinks the windows are as little jewelry boxes presenting different scenes. With sound, moving figures and light he evokes a world of magic and fairy-tale which he wishes to make place for “rêverie”.
He also exposes his own lithos ” I see myself”.
