Federico Fellini (1920-1993) is perhaps the greatest of Italian film-makers.

For celebrating the 50th anniversary of his work, the Jeu de Paume exhibition provides an opportunity to ask oneself about the current relevance of the film-maker’s work, by exploring the sources of his imagination : music-hall and the circus, caricatures or photo-novels, woman in all her grace, psychoanalysis and dreams, and his sometimes stormy relationship with the media.

Sam Stourdzé, the exhibition curator, has assembled a rich selection of photographs, drawings, magazines, posters, film clips, screen tests, amateur films, news from the era and interviews, along with some documents being shown to the public for the first time.

Jeu de Paume, 1, place de la Concorde, 75008 Paris, until 17th of January
